Aptus Treatment Centres

Founded in 1979, Aptus Treatment Centre (formerly MukiBaum Treatment Centres) has been at the forefront of developmental services, supporting people with complex disabilities in achieving their full potential. Many individuals have diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and global developmental delay, in combination with emotional and psychiatric challenges.

Aptus Treatment Centre features three Snoezelen® areas that help meet the complex needs of the individuals they serve:

The Relaxation Room

The Snoezelen relaxation room contains: a heated waterbed that vibrates to music, a ball pit, a Lightspace play floor, bubble tubes, a solar projector, fiber optics, a vibrating mat, a wind machine, weighted blankets, and a soothing ball blanket.

Activation Room (gross motor)

In the Snoezelen activation room, there’s: an air mat, black lights, tactile bins, and various wall panels designed to help develop eye/hand coordination, reinforce cause and effect and provide auditory and visual stimulation.

Wet Spa

In the Snoezelen wet spa there is a hot tub, lights, fiber optics, bubble tubes and a starlight projector for a calming environment
